UPDATE:
FoBP Lakes team have begun a restoration project, backed by the Environment Agency, which aims to revive lakes, ponds, and wetlands.
Stage 1 of the project is for Consultants to conduct an audit for biodiversity and water quality enhancement.


Broomfield Lakes
The Lakes team is working to improve water quality, biodiversity and wildlife for visitors to enjoy. 
The Lakes Action Team are dedicated to improving and supporting lakes and their wildlife
Aims:
- Advocate for the wildlife of the lakes
- Monitor & improve water quality
- Regular litterpicking to keep lakes clean
- Improve biodiversity to support habitats, aquatic plants & invertebrates
- improve water quality
- Information on how to protect, feed & support birds
- Public Health and Safety Guidance
- Increase community engagement and enrichment
- Adopt role as citizen scientists to carry out scientific work in collaboration with professional scientists
What does the Lakes Team do?
Protect Wildlife
Support wildlife in their natural habitats, which will add ecological value to the area.
Improve Water Quality
Help ecosystems thrive, that support plants, wildlife and micro-ogranisms, whilst increasing opporunities for community engagement and enrichment.
Raise Funds
The Lakes Action Team projects is funded by volunteers, and in liaison with Thames 21, FoBP, and Enfield Council.
We are currently waiting on a grant application to the Environment Agency for Citizen Science funding to carry out an audit of the lakes to assess how to progress with restoration.
We intend to develop signage and develop areas of safety for the birds, in the form of floating platforms for safer nesting, preening and resting.
