Friday 17th October
From 2.00-2.30pm
Enfield and the Barnets United Nations Association (EBUNA) will be holding an event on 17th October 2025 commencing at 2pm at the birdbath, located in the Garden of Remembrance in Broomfield Park. The purpose of this event is to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter entering into force on October 24th 1945; a date that has subsequently been named United Nations Day.
The event will occur at the birdbath as this was donated by the League of Nations Union and represents a historic emblem to the pursuit of global lasting peace. EBUNA has commissioned London Stone Works to refurbish the birdbath and will be
unveiling it to commemorate the event.
You are invited to this event, which will last for around 30 minutes. There will be a short introduction and historical overview followed by a short speech on the importance of international peace in today’s world.
Refreshments will be available in the Palmers Greenery Community Café afterwards.
