RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch weekend

Record the birds that visit Broomfield Park

The annual birdwatch weekend - organised by the RSPB - invites participants to spend an hour looking at and recording the birds you see in your garden ... or your local park. It runs from 24th to 26th January.

The RSPB website contains full details on how to take part, to help the national census of birds. As well as private gardens, the RSPB also want to know which birds are regular visitors to our parks, why not sign-up and record the birds you can see in Broomfield Park?

As our recently published Habitats Group report shows, several rare species have been spotted in the park over the last year. In addition we also have a large number of waterfowl in the lakes of several different species.  Getting out in the park for an hour to seek out our feathered friends can be a fun thing to do - as well as contributing to a national study - every bird you count helps towards valuable insight into how our garden - and park - birds are faring.
